Open AI pulls plug on Sora App

OpenAI is pulling the plug on the Sora app, marking the end of the company’s standalone home for AI-generated video.

The move may sound bigger than it is, but the key point is this: OpenAI is closing the app experience, not necessarily abandoning Sora itself. That distinction matters. Sora remains one of the company’s best-known AI video efforts, and current signs suggest the underlying technology will continue in some form even as the dedicated app is phased out.
